Text editor instructions and image upload instructions updated
02 November 2009
The instructions on how to create or edit text using the new toolbar have been updated. Additionally, the instructions also explain how to upload a picture to the Wiki. The instructions are being checked by others for readability and they will also be added under Site Administration. (The white box to the right of this page)
Image embedding and new text editor added
27 October 2009
To add image-embeding functionality, the site was upgraded and a text editor added, moving away from wiki formatting. The text formatting instructions found below the text input box still needs to be rewritten to explain how to use the editing tools in the toolbar. This page has been reformatted using the new text editor. As wiki pages migrate from the old wiki text formatting structure to the new text formatting, some editing out of the previous formatting markup symbols will be necessary, so if you spot some text with apostrophes ' ' ' foo' ' ' or =foo=, it is from the old methodology. Please take them out and use the toolbar above to accomplish the same effect.
Autosuggest added to Search function
24 September 2009
Autosuggest has just been added to the SEARCH function to enhance searching on this site. A database of keywords is still being built, so it won't work as effectively as it might for another 24-48 hours, but the keyword database will steadily grow along with the site.
Embedding images in the text narrative
23 August 2009
We had hoped to have a text editor embedded in the wiki (similar to Word) that would have simplified formatting text, adding links and inserting pictures without having to use wiki formatting. That has proved more difficult than expected, so the ability to embed a picture in the text is not a capability we have at the moment. The site administrator at Skylar Studios is working on either writing or finding the code to allow people to use the regular wiki page editor to embed a picture in a straightforward way into their text narrative.
We hope to have the picture functionality very soon as part of the regular wiki text formatting functionality and then it will be possible to embed images of tables, etc., into the text narrative and reference them directly.
For people wishing to reference tables in their narratives, or provide a picture of something, the only way to do so at the moment is to upload an attachment. When image functionality inside the text editor arrives, pages can be revised. (See update on 27 October 2009)
