growthenergy.jpgGrowth Energy is a membership organization supportive of a new ethanol approach to current policy. It argues that through smart policy reform and a proactive grassroots campaign, Growth Energy can promote the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, expand the use of ethanol in gasoline, decrease America's dependence on foreign oil, and create jobs? at home.

Growth Energy believes the following:
  • Ethanol is a key source of energy for the United States because it is renewable, realistic and clean-burning?.
  • A strong biofuels industry will create American jobs and stimulate economic growth.
  • Cleaner and greener fuels can be created through 21st century technology and innovation.
  • Biofuels will stimulate the growth of sustainable agriculture? worldwide, providing crops for both food and fuel.
  • An energy independent America is achievable and ethanol is the most important first step to making it a reality.
At the 2009 Las Vegas Energy Summit, Growth Energy released a Biofuels Road Map.

The main points of the road map are:
  • The arbitrary regulatory cap should be lifted
  • An alternative fuel infrastructure should be built
  • All vehicles sold must be Flex Fuel Vehicles.
  • Market transparency should be strengthened
  • A national Low Carbon Fuel Standard should be adopted
