Fuel economy is usually measured in one of two ways:
- The amount of fuel used per unit distance - e.g. litres per 100 kilometres (L/100 km). This is the usual way fuel economy is expressed in Europe.
- The distance traveled per unit volume of fuel used - e.g. miles per gallon or MPG?.
