Flex-Fuel Vehicle
Known as flex fuel vehicles, or FFVs, these are vehicles that can use a range of fuel options interchangeably, from 100% gasoline to E85.
In essence, flex-fuel vehicles are vehicles that are flexible in the amount of ethanol on which they run. Currently, all gasoline vehicles can run on 10% ethanol (E10). Flex-fuel vehicles run on 85% ethanol (E85) or any lesser percentage of ethanol and gasoline.
Most FFVs are eligible for a federal income tax credit of up to $4,000.
