Domtar Paper Company, LLC
Domtar Paper Company, LLC is the largest integrated manufacturer and marketer of uncoated freesheet paper in North America and the second largest in the world based on production capacity.
In 2011 the United States Department of Agriculture and the Department of Energy awarded $7 million in funding, through the Biomass Research and Development Initiative, to Domtar Paper Company to build a demonstration plant using technology that converts wastes from paper mills into sugar, oil and lignin products for biofuels. Domtar is investigating opportunities of using its processing technology as a front end to supply biofuels and bioproducts as additional value streams at its facilities.See also: Woody Biomass Utilization
