Political nonprofit supporting renewable energy

25x25 is an organization aimed at rallying support for renewable energy with a goal for America to obtain 25% of its energy from renewable resources like wind, solar, and biofuels by the year 2025.

25x25 says that increasing America's renewable energy use will:

• Bring new technologies to market and save consumers money
• Reduce U.S. dependence on oil from the Middle East
• Create good new jobs in rural America
• Clean up the air and help reduce urban smog and greenhouse gas emissions

Who supports 25x25? A group of volunteer farm leaders first envisioned the goal of 25x25, and it quickly gained the support of a broad cross-section of the agriculture and forestry communities. Leaders from business, labor, conservation, and religious groups have joined the alliance as well. A list of organizations that endorse 25x25 can be found on their website. It is supported financially by the EnergyFutureCoalition?, a non-partisan, public policy initiative funded by foundations.
